The Los Angeles Rams are finished with training camp practices at UC Irvine, and head coach Sean McVay had a lukewarm sentiment to close out practices on Sunday.

"It was okay," McVay said to the media.

Just okay is not what the Rams strive for, and it is not what got them to Super Bowl LIII in February, though it is what earned them a 13-3 defeat against the New England Patriots.

After a joint-practice with the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday, the second one of this fall camp, McVay expressed some frustration with the tempo of the offense, noting that not everything was clicking for the team just yet.

"We were sluggish. I thought it seemed like the defense had good energy. Offensively, not even close to good enough,” McVay said. “I thought they finished the day strong, which is what’s important and our guys kept it together."

McVay went on to give credit to the Chargers team, who's defense routinely got after the Rams and made things tough for their offense. But all in all, things need to get better for McVay and his squad.

"It’s always a good learning opportunity for us. That’s really what this is," said McVay. "You get a chance to try some things that maybe you wouldn’t do against your defense and you get it in a full-speed setting against a really good team where you’re playing against their good players.”
