Despite losing several prominent stars on last season's team that led the league in wins, the Baltimore Ravens have been given the benefit of the doubt by Las Vegas.

Baltimore is tied with the San Francisco 49ers and Kansas City Chiefs for the highest projected win total according to DraftKings with 11.5. The Ravens went 13-4 last season and reached the AFC Championship game before bowing out to the eventual champion Chiefs, 17-10.

The news from DraftKings comes as a surprise to some. The Ravens lost several key players from last season's division title team like linebacker Patrick Queen and offensive linemen Kevin Zeitler and John Simpson. Baltimore did re-sign Justin Madubuike to a long-term contract and signed Derrick Henry in free agency, but there are still plenty of holes on the roster that have not been addressed.

So why is Vegas so high on Baltimore in 2024?

Having a two-time NFL MVP would certainly help.

Lamar Jackson returning for another season after wrapping up his second-MVP award should leave Baltimore competitive in most games. In a loaded AFC, though, it will be hard for Baltimore to remain as consistent as the team was in 2023 with new-comers at key positions and a new defensive coordinator in Zachary Orr manning a talented unit.

In the end, while it may not be likely that the team hits the over, the Ravens are certainly still considered a top team in the conference overall.
