The Houston Texans are flying high after Wednesday's news, but they're not looking down at the Baltimore Ravens just yet.

Gridiron headlines belong to Houston after the team traded for former Buffalo Bills star Stefon Diggs. Fresh off a surprise AFC South title run and a visit to the AFC Divisional playoffs ... where they were soundly defeated by the Ravens ... oddsmakers handicapping Super Bowl LIX were kind to the Texans after the deal. Those at BetMGM lowered Houston's odds from +2500 to +1500 (h/t Erich Richter, New York Post).

While Texans fever may be sweeping the sportsbooks, it's not enough to have them soaring over the Ravens just yet: perhaps sustained by a high-profile addition of their own (running back Derrick Henry), Baltimore still places third in BetMGM's ranking behind only the most recent Super Bowl participants San Franciso (+550) and Kansas City (+650).

Separating the recent Divisional playoff foes are Detroit (+1200), the Bills sans Diggs, and the Cincinnati Bengals (both at +1400).

It's far too early to make football predictions, but there's no doubt that the Houston hurdle on the Ravens' Super Bowl path appears to be far more formidable than it did last week. Diggs joins a receivers' room packed with big-play potential, as young veterans Nico Collins and Tank Dell will be back alongside tight end Dalton Schultz. Overseeing the project is second-year quarterback CJ Stroud, who enjoys a backfield addition of his own in former Bengal Joe Mixon.

The Ravens will get a firsthand glimpse of the Texans' potential revolution a some point this season, as they're due for a visit to NRG Stadium.
