The Kansas City Chiefs recently hosted a visit with former Baltimore Ravens running back J.K. Dobbins, but they might be going in a different direction.

It's unclear if the re-signing of Edwards-Helaire will affect the possible signing of Dobbins, who also met with the Los Angeles Chargers last week.

The former LSU Tiger was taken by Kansas City with the final pick of the first round (No. 32 overall) in the 2020 NFL Draft. he posted 1,100 total yards from scrimmage with five touchdowns as a rookie, his best statistical season in the league.

But with the drafting of Isiah Pacheco combined with injuries to Edwards-Helaire pushed him down the draft chart.

Last offseason, the Chiefs declined Edwards-Helaire's fifth-year option. Working in a contract year, he tallied 411 yards from scrimmage and helped the team win the Super Bowl.

For his career, Edwards-Helaire has registered 1,845 yards on the ground with 12 touchdowns and added 795 yards on 89 catches for another seven scores.
