While many are fairly surprised to see the Detroit Lions start the 2023-24 NFL campaign at 5-1, the Baltimore Ravens expect to be competing for the division crown each and every year. They’ve put themselves in exactly that position this season with a 4-2 start, and have a chance to pick up a big win at home against one of the league’s hottest teams. With that being said, we’ve made a Lions vs. Ravens prediction for their Week 7 matchup.

Along with our game pick, we also have a couple of Lions vs. Ravens player prop bets that we like in this contest. It’s worth noting that all the Lions vs. Ravens odds in this article were taken from BetMGM Sportsbook, where new users have the opportunity to fully insure their first bet up to $1,500.

Detroit Lions vs. Baltimore Ravens Prediction for NFL Week 7

Both the Lions and Ravens come into this game boasting two of the top defensive units in all the NFL. Detroit ranks seventh in terms of yards allowed per game (285.8) and ninth regarding points allowed (18.8). Baltimore, meanwhile, is even better, sitting second in total yards given up per outing (260.8) and fourth in points surrendered (15.2). Add in the fact the Ravens have struggled to move the ball through the air at times this season (194.3 passing yards per game, 24th in NFL), and this could very well be a low-scoring affair.

Detroit’s offense has been as explosive as any, but they are getting bit by the injury bug as we progress further into the season. RB David Montgomery is expected to miss this week’s game and fellow RB Jahmyr Gibbs has sat out the last two. Facing a defense like this is a tall order, even when fully healthy, but with their two main backs not 100%, the Lions may struggle to move the ball consistently. After all, Montgomery went down in last week’s game and the Lions amassed just 20 points.

All in all, even with the stellar play of QB Jared Goff and playmaking ability of QB Lamar Jackson, we see this game totaling a low point total. It should be a good matchup, which is why we’re avoiding a spread pick. Instead, our top Lions vs. Ravens prediction is on the under 42 (-110 at BetMGM).

Lions vs. Ravens Player Prop Picks & Best Bets Targeting Jameson Williams & Lamar Jackson

We just laid out our game pick, but what about Lions vs. Ravens player prop bets? We first want to target WR Jameson Williams for Detroit. Williams returned from his gambling suspension two weeks ago and got his feet wet against Carolina. Last week, against Tampa Bay, Williams caught a deep bomb from Goff that resulted in a score.

That’s exactly what the Lions have him here to do; take the top off the defense. After compiling 53 yards a week ago, we like him to have another big play in him in this one, and it should only take one to propel his receiving yardage over the set total. Take Williams' over receiving yards at BetMGM.

Elsewhere, look for QB Lamar Jackson to use his legs in order to throw off this Detroit defense. The Lions have shown a tendency at times to give up some solid rushing numbers to opposing signal callers, and when you’re facing a player as dynamic as Jackson, that’s never a good thing.

Jackson has hit 45+ rushing yards in four of his six games this season, including 101 back in Week 3 and 62 just last week. Expect him to be on the move early and often in this contest, making the second of our Lions vs. Ravens player prop bets on Jackson over 53.5 rushing yards (-110 at BetMGM).
