2024 NFL Mock Draft: Ravens Shore Up Defensive Line?

The Baltimore Ravens could be in the market for a defensive lineman in a year from now.

The Baltimore Ravens are happy with their 2023 NFL Draft class and are looking forward to their contributions in their rookie seasons. However, it won't be long until the scouting department begins to study the 2024 NFL Draft class, and in some ways, that preparation has already started.

The Athletic compiled a way-too-early mock draft for the 2024 class and awarded the Ravens some defensive line help in Michigan defensive tackle Kris Jenkins.

"If he takes the next step in his development in 2023, the first round could be in range. He is quick off the ball to make plays versus the run and as a pass rusher," The Athletic writes.

Jenkins is about to embark on his senior season at Michigan, where he hopes to build momentum off of a promising junior campaign. In 14 games for the Wolverines, Jenkins recorded 54 tackles and 2.5 sacks, the first of his collegiate career.

Jenkins would certainly fill a need on the Ravens defensive line. The team employs Michael Pierce as the starting nose tackle, but he'll be a free agent by the time Jenkins is drafted. Baltimore would be wise to find a replacement for Pierce before then, but adding youth and a potential long-term solution at the position in the first round would be crucial for the Ravens.
