Baltimore Ravens Legend Shannon Sharpe Criticizes Kansas City Chiefs Travis Kelce: ‘Horrible Look’

Pro Football Hall of Famer and former Baltimore Ravens tight end Shannon Sharpe recently had some pointed criticism of Kansas City Chiefs All-Pro Travis Kelce.

Baltimore Ravens legend and Pro Football Hall of Famer Shannon Sharpe is clearly not a fan of the recent sports fandom travel habits of Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.

In the aftermath of the Chiefs 24-9 loss to the Denver Broncos -- a game in which Kelce logged six catches for 58 yards -- Sharpe was quick to point out that the 34-year-old's decision to attend Game 1 of the World Series in Arlington, Texas less than 48 hours prior may not cast his subpar performance against Denver in the best light.

"If [the World Series] is in Kansas City, I've got no problem with that," Sharpe told co-host Chad Johnson on his Nightcap show Sunday evening. "But you mean to tell me you're going to get on a plane and go to Arlington and then you've got a game on Sunday during the season? That's a bad look."

Kelce, who has 54 catches for 583 yards and four touchdowns is typically to subject of effusive praise for his pass-catching abilities and synergy with Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes. However, with Mahomes fighting a stomach flu, the pair was less than prolific against the Broncos on Sunday.

As for Kelce, Johnson -- himself, a six-time Pro Bowler -- was willing to cut the two-time Super Bowl champion a bit of additional slack.

"Travis Kelce has a little bit more leniency to do something like that on a Friday," Johnson said. "To have a mental reset, to go enjoy a World Series game and be able to come back and perform, because you know what you get from him."

Still, Sharpe (who won two Super Bowls with the Broncos and one with the Ravens) knows not only the importance of setting an example as one of the team's star players, but also the value of pregame rest. The five-time All-Pro, turned broadcast journalist, reiterated that NFL coaches instill the need to "get off their feet" and rest up on the Friday before a game to their players.

"He was out ... That's a horrible look," Sharpe said. "I'm not saying it's a bad look, I'm saying it's a horrible look. And Trav is my guy, but it's not a good look."

Kelce and the Chiefs (6-2) will undoubtedly be looking to keep pace with the Ravens (6-2) as they travel to Germany for their Week 9 showdown against the Miami Dolphins (6-2). Baltimore, fresh off of a 31-24 victory over the Arizona Cardinals, will host the Seattle Seahawks (5-2) at M&T Bank Stadium for a 1 p.m. kickoff on Sunday.

Kelce is reportedly then expected to visit love interest Taylor Swift during the Chiefs' bye week as her Eras Tour makes its international dates. Whether Kelce's itinerary catches either Sharpe's attention or ire remains to be seen.
