Baltimore Ravens' Drop Issues: 'Can’t Be Contagious!'

The Baltimore Ravens loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers was marred by several drops on offense, and tight end Mark Andrews says the issue can't become contagious.

The Baltimore Ravens' 17-10 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers will hurt for a while. Especially given that Baltimore did more than enough to win the game, but costly mishaps would end up costing them the game.

One of the biggest talking points coming out of the game was the amount of drops on offense. Baltimore had six drops against the Steelers in what was a poor showing from the receiving group.

For tight end Mark Andrews, the drops cost Baltimore the game, and the issue can't spread through the locker room.

“We have too good of players, myself included, that stuff can’t be contagious,” Andrews said. “One happens, whatever, move on and get to the next play. We need to be better. Obviously, Lamar’s putting the ball right where it needs to be. We need to be there for him and make plays. We do that, we win this game.”

While the Ravens' loss isn't the end of the world, they missed a chance to take a stranglehold on the division and now sit second behind Pittsburgh.

Mark Andrews doesn't want the drop issues to linger any longer.

With Todd Monken's offense still undergoing some teething issues, Baltimore has plenty of room for improvement.

But the loss to the Steelers is one that could hurt Baltimore come playoff time, and for Andrews, it was tough to lose such a game considering how well they controlled proceedings.

"We just kind of hurt ourselves,” Andrews said. “It’s a tough game to lose because you feel you controlled the whole game, feel like we could do what we wanted and impose our will, and we lost the game.”

The Ravens will pick themselves up ready to face the Tennessee Titans in London at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and hope that the glaring drop issues don't, as Andrews says, become contagious.
