Ravens (for now) quarterback Lamar Jackson has been handed the non-exclusive franchise tag by Baltimore, which means he can begin negotiating with other teams on Wednesday.

And when we say he, we mean HE

Jackson very famously represents himself and does not utilize the services of a skilled agent. And it appears he has no intention of changing that.

On Tuesday, Jackson took to Twitter to disagree with a report by Adam Schefter stating Jackson turned down $200 million guaranteed back in September.

Then he offered a very cryptic tweet himself:

It's cryptic because we have no idea what the "133/3 years fully guaranteed" represents. It could be an actual offer he received from the Ravens previously or one he received recently from Baltimore or another team.

It also doesn't say if he would accept an offer like that.

Regardless of the inside meaning, it is apparent that Jackson has no intention of changing his stance on refusing to hire an agent to represent him. And that's unfortunate for him and for Ravens fans.

As RavenCountry.com recently pointed out, he desperately needs an agent to represent him. Maybe even more now than he did during the draft process as we outlined here.

Jackson's window to collect the contract he deserves is quickly closing. The contracts that Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes signed in 2021 and 2022 will soon be a thing of the past as owners realize it's terrible for business.
