'Are Y'all Gonna Pay Lamar?' Ravens CB Asked by Interested Free Agents at NFL Pro Bowl
The NFL Pro Bowl festivities have come and gone, and while the Ravens were well-represented in the newly-imagined Pro Bowl Games, some were working that weekend too.
Baltimore cornerback Marlon Humphrey was actively recruiting players for his Ravens squad and seemed to hit a roadblock each time.
Ravens' quarterback and former league MVP is in a very public negotiation for a new contract with his club. It's been reported that Baltimore will place the Exclusive Franchise Tag on Jackson. That means he cannot take contract offers from other teams, and the Ravens can name their own price in terms of a trade.
But one NFL insider reported last week that he didn't think Baltimore would trade Jackson.
The Ravens have recently shown a willingness to pay their stars, as they signed linebacker Roquan Smith to a five-year, $100 million deal after acquiring him from Chicago via trade. That makes Smith the highest-paid linebacker in the history of the league.
Jackson ended the 2022 season prematurely but finished with a 62.3 percent completion rate, 2,242 passing yards, and 17 touchdowns. He also threw seven interceptions in the 12 games he played in. Jackson also ran the ball 112 times for 764 rushing yards.
Jackson missed the final five weeks due to a strained PCL after it was reported initially he'd only miss one to three weeks.
Jackson's presence would make the Ravens a more attractive destination for free agents, so it's no wonder Humphrey is being bombarded with the same question from potential free agents.
