Ravens Lamar Jackson on Sitting Out vs. Steelers - 'Snoop Can Get The Job Done!'

Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson won't be suiting up against the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 18, but he has full confidence that Tyler Huntley can get the win.

Life is pretty good right now if you're the Baltimore Ravens. Having clinched the No. 1 seed in the AFC and home-field advantage all throughout the playoffs, the Ravens are now able to rest players in Week 18 against the Pittsburgh Steelers in preparation for the postseason.

One of those players is MVP candidate Lamar Jackson.

With head coach John Harbaugh delivering the news to Jackson that he will be sitting out, there are no doubts from Lamar that Pro Bowl quarterback Tyler Huntley, or "Snoop" as he's affectionately known, can get the win on Saturday.

“I believe Snoop [Huntley] can get the job done," Jackson said. "We got guys who going to go out there and ball out you know, I got all the faith in my team.”

One of the biggest questions entering the season was what would the Baltimore offense look like with new coordinator Todd Monken taking over from Greg Roman.

While there were growing pains initially, the unit has gotten into a groove and as such, Jackson has had an MVP-level season. Lamar has thrown for the most passing yards in his career (3,678), his highest touchdown total since 2020 (24), and the most rushing yards since 2020 (821).

All of that has led the Ravens to a 13-3 record with Jackson under center, but why does he think that the offense, particularly over the last few weeks that has seen them demolish the San Francisco 49ers and the Miami Dolphins, has been so potent?

“I just believe we've been you know just gelling together and getting better each and every day," Jackson said. "Starting in practice, I feel like towards the end of this season our practice has been a lot crisp a lot sharper and it's showing on Sundays.”

The Ravens are in a similar position to 2019 where they secured the No. 1 seed after Jackson's MVP season but went one-and-done after defeat to the Tennessee Titans 28-12.

History has an uncanny knack for repeating itself, but this version of the Ravens will no doubt be hellbent on making the most of their position, starting with beating the Steelers and moving into the playoffs in winning form.
