Houston, We Have a QB? Ravens' Lamar Jackson Has New Rumored Landing Spot

The woebegone Houston Texas are the latest to team enter the ongoing conversation for the services of Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson.

"Houston, we have a problem" hardly narrows it down when it comes to the gridiron fortunes of its NFL franchise. But a solution to one of the more glaring problems could linger in Baltimore.

The surprisingly small pool of suitors for Baltimore Ravens franchise quarterback Lamar Jackson welcomed a relatively big fish in the form of the Houston Texans, who were thrown in by ESPN's Dan Orlovsky. Seeking franchise clarity under center after Deshaun Watson's unceremonious exit, the Texans, Orlovsky argues, present an opportunity where they're in desperate need of a proven starter in the aerial ranks.

For all their flaws, the Texans also have the resources to pull off such a deal, including the second overall pick in this spring's draft.

"Realistically, there isn't a massive list of teams who can get a deal done — there are not a lot of options," Orlovsky told Texans Daily. "Houston has the picks. They have a team that will not be a late first-round pick next year. They have the salary cap space. They just have all of the capabilities to do it."

Last year's starter Davis Mills remains on the roster while the team also added Case Keenum and E.J. Perry so far this offseason. Many have prophesized that they'll use the second overall choice on one of the elite passing prospects such as Bryce Young and C.J. Stroud. In addition to No. 2, the Texans also own the 12th pick in the draft coming over from the Watson trade with Cleveland as well as primary picks near the top of the second and third rounds (with yet another Watson-based selection showing up in the third), part of an 11-choice arsenal.

Complicated as is, the Jackson saga shows no sign of ending any time soon. Houston figures to be more likely to use their primary draft pick on their next franchise quarterback but it's good to see that the Ravens have a team on whom they could potentially persuade into an offer they can't refuse.
