Ravens Coach John Harbaugh Speaks On Brother Jim's NFL Future

With all the speculation surrounding Jim Harbaugh's future, you'd think brother John would have some insight.

The Michigan Wolverines capped off their first national title since 1997 with a 34-13 manhandling of the Washington Huskies back on Jan. 8. Much of the credit for that win goes to Wolverines head coach Jim Harbaugh, who served two separate three-game suspensions during the season for recruiting violations.

A lot of speculation swirled after that game that Harbaugh might return to the NFL, where he previously coached the 49ers from 2011-2014. Harbaugh and San Francisco appeared in Super Bowl XLVII but suffered a loss to the Baltimore Ravens and head coach John Harbaugh, Jim's brother.

With all the speculation surrounding Jim's future, you'd think brother John would have some insight. But that's not necessarily true. John is apparently just as in the dark as the rest of us.

“I don’t know what he’s going to do. I’m not sure what Jim’s plans are,” Harbaugh said. “Whatever he does will be what’s best for his family.

“I know Michigan’s been a joy for him to go back to his alma mater. His family loves it there, the players love him, the coaches, the fanbase. I would think the president and the board of trustees would be doing everything they can to try and keep them. That would be priority No. 1 if I was them.

“He loves Michigan, but the NFL — he loves the NFL too, so we’ll have to see.”

Jim has interviewed with the Los Angeles Chargers and Atlanta Falcons. It sure would be nice to see Jim and John on opposing sidelines again in the NFL.
