NFL Mock: Ravens Select 'Otherworldly' OT Amarius Mims
The Baltimore Ravens have a host of roster needs, but perhaps one that takes precedence is the offensive line.
With starting guard John Simpson already snapped up by the New York Jets and Kevin Zeitler still a free agent, the Ravens need to potentially fill two spots.
Lamar Jackson was sacked 37 times last season (career high) as in Todd Monken's offense, the now two-time MVP winner had 457 pass attempts (most in career), so he was in more situations where the pass rush could get to him.
With holes in the offensive line and the draft littered with supremely talented athletes, CBS Sports has the Ravens taking one of the best tackles in the class in Georgia standout Amarius Mims.
"Mims did some otherworldly stuff in Indianapolis at the combine at nearly 6-foot-8 and 340 pounds," CBS Sports writes. "He's the type of oversized, overwhelming blocker the Ravens love."

The Ravens recently signed Derrick Henry to bolster their already impressive run game, and if we add in run game mauler and pass protection beast Mims, who, for his size, has superb length and athleticism as he gets to the second level in a flash.
Given his ability to play along the offensive line, despite being a tackle in college (potential Ronnie Stanley replacement?), Mims can be deployed across the line, which could appeal to Baltimore.
While the Ravens could easily go defense in the first round, given how crucial Jackson is to the team's success, getting him good protection in the form of Mims could propel Baltimore forward in 2024.
Additionally, in the run game with Henry, having a tackle as explosive as Mims, who can get out in space and move defenders out of the way, could make Baltimore even more damaging on the ground.
The Ravens have offensive line issues, and in Mims, they could have the tackle spot nailed down for the next decade (injuries permitting).
