Odell Beckham Jr. Reveals Ravens New Jersey Number

Odell Beckham Jr.'s new purple digit holds a special place in Baltimore Ravens history.

The Baltimore Ravens' newest member will be wearing a familiar number.

Odell Beckham Jr.'s official introduction in black and purple allowed fans to prepare for any potential merchandise purchases, as it was revealed that he'd wear No. 3 when he takes to the field as a Raven next season.

Beckham thus retains the digit he wore in college at LSU and during his last NFL stop with the Los Angeles Rams, where he played a major role in the run to Super Bowl LVI.

He previously wore No. 13 with the New York Giants and Cleveland Browns before expanded restrictions on jersey numbers allowed receivers to wear a single-digit jersey. The No. 13 is currently worn by Beckham's new teammate Devin Duvernay.

The No. 3 holds a special place in Ravens history as it was worn by another fellow receiver James Proche last season.

It originally belonged to longtime Baltimore kicker Matt Stover, who wore it for the first 13 seasons of the Ravens' existence, retaining it from his time as the final kicker of the Browns' original incarnation.

Stover, who left Baltimore in 2008, was the Ravens' all-time leading scorer until Justin Tucker passed him last season.

Others to wear No. 3  in Baltimore include quarterback Robert Griffin III (2018-20) and linebacker L.J. Fort (2021-22).

Beckham's jersey number is one of several digits attached to what could be a magical season in Charm City: after not playing last season, Beckham is playing next year on a one-year deal worth a guaranteed $15 million, one that has the ability to expand to $18 million upon meeting incentives.
