Lamar Jackson 'Ticked Off!' With Ravens' Offensive Stumbles vs. Colts

The Baltimore Ravens fell to a 22-19 overtime loss to the Indianapolis Colts that was marred by several offensive mishaps that left Lamar Jackson rather upset.

The Baltimore Ravens' undefeated start to the season was halted on Sunday against a plucky Indianapolis Colts team in a 22-19 overtime loss that was marred by several offensive mishaps.

The weather played a large part in Baltimore's four fumbles (lost two) on the day as Lamar Jackson (2), Kenyan Drake, and Sam Mustipher all put the ball on the ground.

For Jackson, the offense has to do a better job of protecting the football.

“It messed with us a little bit, the turnovers, the fumbles, mishaps,” Jackson said. “But it’s a part of football, things happen with the weather, we just got to do a better job.”

After the Ravens offense seemed to click last week against the Cincinnati Bengals, it was a step back against the Colts as again, things looked rather clunky as the Ravens offense only converted six of 16 third downs on the day.

With the defense doing its job, highlighted by Kyle Hamilton's three sacks, the offense needed to come to the party.

Unfortunately, it wasn't that simple and the mistakes on offense left Jackson rather annoyed, given that the defense had done such a good job giving the offense a chance to put the game away multiple times.

“We had plenty of opportunities to put the game away, especially when the defense did a great job of stopping those guys," Jackson said. "Great field position, but we didn’t move the ball at all, that ticked me off, it ticked all of us off, we like to finish the drive, defense did great today, giving us an opportunity to finish the game and we didn’t.”

The missed opportunities will haunt Baltimore as they had more than enough chances to put the game away, but costly errors on offense (and a phantom no-call on pass interference on Zay Flowers in overtime) ultimately led to the Ravens' first loss of the season.

Up next for Baltimore is a Cleveland Browns team that demolished the Tennessee Titans 27-3 with Jackson hoping the offense learns its lessons from its poor outing vs. the Colts.
