Ravens QB Lamar Jackson Deserves 'More Opportunities' in NFL Prime-Time Games

After locking in their franchise quarterback one NFL analyst wants to see the Baltimore Ravens get more time in prime-time contests.

It was touch and go for a minute or two but in the end quarterback Lamar Jackson is headed back to the Baltimore Ravens on a five-year deal, and that has things looking up for the franchise many counted out if they didn't make it happen.

In fact, not only is the franchise back on track as one of the AFC teams looking to build a title contender, but the Ravens have also remained one of the league's must-see teams heading into 2023.

So much so that NFL.com analyst David Carr says the league needs to put Baltimore in more prime-time matchups to showcase Jackson's talents and the team's potential.

"Lamar Jackson collected his money, and the Ravens locked in their quarterback," writes Carr. "Both sides got what they wanted. Now the NFL should give the people what they want: Jackson in (prime time). When he's healthy, the veteran quarterback is one of the most electric players in the league. I don't care who the opponent is, though Baltimore does have some intriguing non-division matchups, with the Jaguars, 49ers, Chargers, Dolphins, Seahawks and Lions all on the coming slate. Bottom line: Lamar should get more opportunities under the lights to prove why he's the NFL's highest-paid player."

While Carr points out the Ravens' non-divisional schedule, the AFC North presents some intriguing opportunities as well.

After all, while Jackson is the league's highest-paid player now it wasn't that long ago that what he would be paid was being compared to what Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson is being paid following his off-field problems and break from playing.

The Pittsburgh Steelers are always a tough matchup and a national audience would have a lot of fun watching quarterback Kenny Pickett try to establish himself as the young quarterback to watch while Jackson seeks to prove it's not his time at the top of the division just yet.

Finally, there's the Cincinnati Bengals, and who doesn't love a good opportunity to knock off a recent AFC Champion and back-to-back division winner?

There are plenty of opportunities, and with Jackson back in the fold, no shortage of talent to leverage when giving Baltimore consideration for prime-time appearances.
