Do Ravens Have A Fantasy Football 'Sleeper'?

Could a Baltimore Ravens receiver emerge as a sharp fantasy football player?

As rankings develop for the 2023 season, fantasy football fanatics have kept a close eye on NFL OTAs, looking for a relatively unknown or almost-forgotten player who could unexpectedly emerge to blow up the scoreboard.

Which players could be labeled as "sleepers" this season? Odell Beckham Jr. does not fit the category as relatively unknown or almost forgotten.

Baltimore Ravens receiver Rashod Bateman is among Sports Illustrated's "sleeper" wide receiver picks for 2023:

The Ravens were busy this offseason, adding two veterans, Odell Beckham Jr. and Nelson Agholor, and a rookie in Zay Flowers at wide receiver. Still, some would say it is Bateman who will be their top fantasy option at the position. A first-round pick just two years ago, Bateman has plenty of potential in an offense that projects to throw the ball more often under new offensive coordinator Todd Monken.

Bateman is sidelined for mandatory minicamp as he continues to rehab a foot injury from last season. According to coach Harbaugh, the team opted to let Bateman keep rehabbing to make sure he’s “ready to go” for training camp next month.

Hopes are high for an improvement on offense in 2023 thanks to a healthy Lamar Jackson and Bateman plus new additions including offensive coordinator Todd Monken, Beckham Jr., Agholor and rookie Flowers.

Jackson is "very excited" about the depth and feels good about his chemistry with Bateman.

"It's great to see my guy back out there," Jackson said of Bateman. "Receiver No.1, for sure. I'm glad to see him back healthy. I can't wait until he's on the field."

With a new-look roster after an active offseason, Baltimore has the eighth-best odds to win the Super Bowl this season. If Bateman can excel under Monken's pass-heavy play calling, he will certainly be a sleeper and could help his team make noise into the postseason.
