Ravens Re-Sign QB Josh Johnson to One-Year Deal
The Baltimore Ravens and quarterback Josh Johnson have agreed to terms that will keep the journeyman signal caller in Baltimore for at least one more season.
Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic reported first that Johnson and the team have agreed to a one-year deal. Johnson came to the Ravens last offseason for a third stint with the team and remained on the roster all season. He did not appear in any games.

Johnson has played in the NFL for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Cleveland Browns, Cincinnati Bengals, Washington, New York Jets, Ravens, and San Francisco 49ers. The San Diego product has also played for the San Diego Fleet of the Alliance of American Football and the Los Angeles Wildcats of the XFL.
Johnson re-joins a quarterback room that includes Malik Cunninghan and Lamar Jackson. Tyler Huntley is currently a free agent.
Johnson last appeared in a regular season NFL game in the 2022 playoffs when he replaced an injured Brock Purdy against the Philadelphia Eagles in the NFC Championship game. Johnson suffered a concussion and was knocked out of the game, famously leaving the 49ers with no healthy quarterbacks.
That prompted a rules change that allows teams to carry an emergency third quarterback on game days that are only allowed in the game if the first two are injured and cannot return.
