Can Todd Monken Take Ravens QB Lamar Jackson to New Level?

The hire of Todd Monken as offensive coordinator has been seen as a masterstroke by the Ravens.

The Baltimore Ravens have a new offensive coordinator in the form of Georgia Bulldogs wizard Todd Monken. After overseeing back-to-back national championships, Monken is taking his talents back to the NFL ... and Lamar Jackson.

In what has been lauded as a superb move by the Ravens, Monken is now seen as the man who can take Jackson and his current skill set to new heights according to Josina Anderson of CBS Sports.

"New heights."

That has to excite Ravens fans.

With an MVP in his back pocket, Jackson has been one of the best dual-threat quarterbacks in the NFL, which is why the hire of Monken fits so well ... at least on paper.

The Bulldogs averaged an eye-watering 39.8 points per game under Monken while also having a superbly balanced offense that saw Georgia rush for 200 yards per game while throwing for 273.

With a player like Jackson, that feels like a recipe for success. Not to mention what Monken was able to do with Georgia quarterback Stetson Bennett.

From a walk-on to a Heisman Trophy finalist, that growth will undoubtedly have Ravens fans excited about what Monken can do with Lamar.

The thought of Monken potentially leveling up Jackson at the quarterback position could be scary. Last season Jackson had his lowest completion percentage (62.3), passing yards (2,242), passing attempts (326), and rushing yards per game (63.7) since his rookie year. The only way is up, right?

Is Monken the man to fix Lamar and get him back to the MVP version that sliced and diced through the league?

Ravens fans sure hope so.
