'Gatorade Shower!' Seahawks DK Metcalf Reveals Lofty Goals

DK Metcalf discusses never having participated in a Gatorade shower, and his desire to change that with the Seattle Seahawks.

There are not many receivers across the NFL who can claim they are better than DK Metcalf of the Seattle Seahawks. Often unguardable, he makes life miserable for whichever defensive back that lines up across from him.

Despite his dominance since entering the league, though, Metcalf revealed to Yahoo Sports at the Gatorade National Player of the Year awards that he has one simple goal that he's yet to achieve - he wants to participate in a Gatorade shower.

"I never won a game we did. I was in high school. Lost the state championship three times," Metcalf said. "College, we were average, 6 and 6, 5 and 7 (wins). Then in the League, we really haven't made a Gatorade shower appearance."

A Gatorade shower, of course, being where players take the orange Gatorade coolers … and douse the coach after a major win. The most common occurrence being after championship wins, with the color Gatorade dumped on the Super Bowl winning coach a well-known prop bet.

As for Metcalf, well, what he said about not having an opportunity to participate one is true. In his three seasons at Ole Miss they only won more than six games once, a season in which they were serving a postseason ban.

Now, though, he and the Seahawks are coming off a playoff berth in 2022 and looking to make it again this season. If they can play as well as they did last season and get over the hump in the playoffs, Metcalf may very well get his coveted Gatorade shower.
