Seahawks WATCH: Easop Winston Jr. Snags 1st TD vs. Vikings

The Seattle Seahawks were in action for the first time this preseason, and receiver Easop Winston Jr. grabbed the first touchdown for the Seahawks.

The Seattle Seahawks first preseason game against the Minnesota Vikings on Thursday night was no doubt a welcome change as the grind of training camp continues in the lead-up to the regular season.

For most, the first preseason game for players is a chance to, one, stake their claim for a roster spot, and two, to knock off some rust as it is the first "game-like" situation of the offseason.

Both could apply to Seahawks receiver Easop Winston Jr., who is looking to stamp his spot on the 53-man roster, as he grabbed the first touchdown for Seattle.

It was a rather sour first half for the Seahawks, but quarterback Drew Lock led the team's first touchdown drive of the preseason with help from Zach Charbonnet and Jake Bobo, who caught a 29-yard pass.

The drive ended with a superb contested catch from Winston Jr. as Lock threw into triple coverage on 3rd and 7.

For Winston, his 12-yard touchdown grab will no doubt be food for thought for Seahawks coach Pete Carroll and offensive coordinator Shane Waldron as they build the roster.

Winston Jr. played three games for the New Orleans Saints last season in what was his first action in his career (starting one) and returned 10 punts for 119 yards.

His preseason is off to a good start with Seattle after his touchdown grab was his first catch of the game.
