Seahawks Selling? Jeff Bezos Rumored to Have Interest in Buying Team
The Seattle Seahawks are currently focused on what's ahead of them in the draft and free agency this offseason.
But the team now finds itself intertwined in rumors that address a much bigger picture.
Per Sports Illustrated's Albert Breer, Amazon founder Jeff Bezos reportedly has interest in purchasing the Seahawks. Bezos has previously been reported as having interest in buying the Washington Commander as well.
However, the Seahawks appear to be higher up on the billionaire's list.
"Bezos would be as interested, if not more so, in buying the Seahawks than the Commanders," Breer said.
The Seahawks are currently owned by the Paul G. Allen trust. Paul Allen had reigned as the previous owner for over 20 years before his death in 2018. His sister, Jody, now serves as the official Chair of the team.
Of course, this isn't the first time Bezos has had reported interested in buying the Seahawks.
In 2019, the Washington Post reported that Bezos had "expressed an interest in buying the Seahawks" despite the team not being for sale.
It could only be a matter of time before one of the wealthiest men in the world makes an official move that signals his desire to purchase and own the Seahawks.
