BREAKING: Seahawks Select Auburn EDGE Derick Hall with No. 37 Pick

The Seattle Seahawks have made their first pick of the second round, selecting Auburn Tigers EDGE Derick Hall at No. 37.

After a busy first round in the 2023 NFL Draft on Thursday, the Seattle Seahawks found themselves on the clock early in the second round on Friday with the No. 37 overall pick.

And with the selection, the Seahawks have snagged talent to address their defensive line by picking Auburn EDGE Derick Hall.

Hall used his brute strength to find success during four seasons at Auburn, going up against the best competition the SEC had to offer. He proved he belonged amongst the best, totaling 19 sacks over the past three seasons. He also added five forced fumbles and an interception.

This included a nine-sack campaign in 2021, as Hall ended off the regular season with three sacks against Alabama quarterback Bryce Young, who went No. 1 overall to the Carolina Panthers.

Here's what SI's NFL Draft Bible had to say about Hall:

"A special athlete who flashed in 2020 before exploding in 2021, Derick Hall has the versatility, bend, length, and burst to be an elite pass rusher in the NFL. That said, he must seriously overhaul his pass rush plan and technique. He needs to learn to play to his skillset. He currently projects as a valuable developmental piece and designated pass rusher with special teams value."

The Seahawks are back on the clock in the second round at pick No. 52.
