A native of Albany, New York, Lockette signed with the Seahawks as an undrafted free agent in 2011 and appeared in 34 games for the team across four seasons. In that time, he caught 22 passes for 451 yards and four touchdowns. His career came to an abrupt end after he suffered a severe neck injury during a November 2015 game against the Dallas Cowboys.

Lockette also had brief stints on the San Francisco 49ers and Chicago Bears' practice squads, but never appeared in a game for either team.

Perhaps Lockette's most-notable moment in Seattle is one of infamy, as he was the target when Russell Wilson's goal-line interception to Malcolm Butler sealed the Seahawks' fate in Super Bowl XLIX against the New England Patriots.

Today, Lockette serves as a player advisor for the Harvard Football Players Health Study, a research program with the goal of improving player safety.
