Seattle Seahawks Open Coby Bryant's Return Window, Sign Jake Curhan To Practice Squad

The Seattle Seahawks made a pair of roster moves on Monday as they begin a very short week.

Following Sunday's 17-16 loss to the Los Angeles Rams, the Seattle Seahawks are back to wok immediately as they prepare to host the San Francisco 49ers in another huge divisional matchup on Thanksgiving.

To begin their preparations for the big holiday showdown, the Seahawks made a couple of notable roster moves on Monday as they look to shake off the loss.

The first move, and probably the one Seahawks fans are more excited about, was opening the 21-day practice window for cornerback Coby Bryant to return from injured reserve. A 2022 fourth-round pick out of Cincinnati, Bryant had a solid rookie season with 70 total tackles, two sacks, four passes defended and four forced fumbles. This season, though, he's been out since Week 2 with a nasty toe injury.

With the window now open, the Seahawks now have three weeks to activate Bryant to the 53-man roster or keep him on IR for the rest of the season. With the Seahawks' pass defense ranking as average to below average, statistically speaking at least, Bryant's return could be a big boost.

The second, smaller move the Seahawks made was signing offensive tackle Jake Curhan to the practice squad. Curhan, who joined the Seahawks as an undrafted free agent in 2021, was on the 53-man roster until Saturday, when Seattle waived him to make room for veteran lineman Jason Peters. The 25-year-old has appeared in nine games this season and started four of them, largely filling in for injured lineman Abraham Lucas.

With the 49ers showdown fast approaching, it wouldn't be a surprise to see the Seahawks make more roster moves throughout the week.
