Seahawks Sign RB Bryant Koback, Add Another New Face to Backfield

New Seattle Seahawks running back Bryant Koback posted 52 total touchdowns in his collegiate career at Toledo, which earned him a shot as a undrafted free agent with the Minnesota Vikings last season.

The Seattle Seahawks aren't quite done with adding depth to their backfield as some of the most important days of their offseason approaches.

Seattle signed former Minnesota Vikings running back Bryant Koback to a deal on Wednesday, per reports from KPRC2 in Houston. He joins a Seahawks team that drafted two running backs in last month's draft, as UCLA's Zach Charbonnet and Georgia's Kenny McIntosh will fill out a backfield that already features Kenneth Walker III and DeeJay Dallas.

Koback posted 52 total touchdowns in his collegiate career at Toledo, which earned him a shot as a undrafted free agent with the Vikings last season. He was signed to the practice squad before the season but never appeared in a game before being released in January after Minnesota's season ended in the NFC Wild Card.

However, he got some much-needed action in all three of the Vikings' preseason games. Combined, he posted 21 carries for 67 yards and one touchdown along with four catches for 21 yards. Most of this production came in Minnesota's final game of the preseason, as Koback had a game-high 14 carries along with 41 yards and a touchdown in a 23-13 loss to the Denver Broncos.

Now that the Seahawks are giving him a chance, he'll have to fight for a roster spot behind four other talented backs.
