Antonio Brown Predicts Steelers Next Signing

The Pittsburgh Steelers could make another splash soon.

PITTSBURGH -- Antonio Brown is trying his hand at the national reporting game, and this offseason, there have been times when he's right. With his next prediction, he's saying free agent safety Justin Simmons is headed to the Pittsburgh Steelers - or at least leaning that way.

Brown's second X account, CTESPN tweeted that Simmons is favoring a move to the Steelers as the NFL Draft approaches. According to Brown, a deal "could be done soon."

Reports from Pittsburgh Post-Gazette's Gerry Dulac are different, saying the Steelers are out on Simmons after signing DeShon Elliott. Currently, Pittsburgh's safety room includes Elliott, Minkah Fitzpatrick, Damontae Kazee and Miles Killebrew.

The team's last remaining need on defense could be their slot cornerback position, but Simmons wouldn't add value there. What his addition could do is allow Elliott or Kazee to move to the nickel role, a position that both players have experience at.

Simmons' estimated contract value is one-year, $11 million. A deal with Pittsburgh would likely be for less of a salary as the team is barely holding $11 million currently.
