Diontae Johnson Tells Steelers Fans 'Get a Life'
The former Pittsburgh Steelers wideout has had enough of his former fanbase.
PITTSBURGH -- Former Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Diontae Johnson has, like most players who leave the team, received some slack by fans about his departure.
The 27-year-old is now in Carolina after the Steelers traded the Panthers for cornerback Donte Jackson and a pick swap. It ended a five-year run in Pittsburgh where the third-round pick made a Pro Bowl and caught 391 passes for 4,363 yards and 25 touchdowns.
Now on the other side, Johnson is seeing the reactions of fans, and gave a quick response to those who have distaste about his time with the team.
"I love Pittsburgh regardless of what happened yaw fans delusional and swea everything I tweet be about them yaw need get a life," he wrote on X.
Johnson received plenty of criticism from fans during his time in Pittsburgh, starting because of some drop issues early in his career, but continuing due to instances where he was caught not giving 100% effort during games and having several incidences with teammates, including altercations with Mitch Trubisky and Minkah Fitzpatrick.
Still, Johnson left with plenty of love for the Steelers organization, sending his goodbye on social media and thanking the team and city for everything they've done for him.
Now, it appears he's just looking to turn the page and begin representing a new fanbase, without the reactions of the former one.
