Antonio Brown On Verge of Legal Troubles With Arena Team

The Albany Empire owner could be facing legal action after more problems within the team.

PITTSBURGH -- Former Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown could be facing legal troubles after players are reportedly considering taking action against the Albany Empire owner.

According to NEWS10's Griffin Haas, former interim Empire head coach Moe Leggett said the team's final game checks were pulled from players' and coaches' bank accounts after they were already deposited.

"Frustration, anger, disbelief, shock, you name it," Leggett told NEWS10. "It’s a very unfortunate situation that we’re being put in. We just want to put it behind us. Just pay what the guys are owed and we’ll just move on. No hard feelings. But you’re playing with people’s livelihoods."

Leggett also said some players and staff members were not signed up through the autopay system and have not been paid at all.

Leggett told NEWS10 that the players and staff are considering legal actions if the matter is not resolved but would like to handle the situation as quickly and quietly as possible.

This news follows a long strong of Albany Empire mishaps since Brown took over partial ownership of the team. Along with other reports of players and coaches not being paid, the firing of multiple head coaches and mixed reports about Browns' ownership, the team was recently removed from the National Arena League as a whole.

Where the Empire goes from here is unknown, but Brown has made it clear he wants the team to join the Arena Football League.
