Benny Snell Jr. says 'every day is a new learning experience' in the NFL

Benny Snell Jr. could see his role increase as the Pittsburgh Steelers go without Jaylen Samuels for the next month.

Through five weeks of his rookie season, Benny Snell Jr. has spent most of his time on special teams. With three talented running backs on the roster, the Steelers have utilized the fourth-round pick as a multi-talented punt and kick man. "As of now, with my special teams role I've been doing my best," Snell said. "Try to be a productive guy."

Snell, the powerful runner out of Kentucky, hasn't had an opportunity to show his talent in the pros. Through five games, Snell has rushed the ball six times for 30 yards. It's been a learning year to this point, but Snell is still enjoying it.

"You learn something new every day," Snell said. "Every day is a new learning experience, whether it's on or off the field." It's fun, it's the game I love."

Snell's veteran leadership combine for three years in the NFL. James Conner and Jaylen Samuels are still adapting to everything the NFL demands, but Snell says he is learning from Conner. "He's taught me that it's always about the details and little things that you do that matter the most."

Snell will get his opportunity as the backup for Pittsburgh over the next month. As for whether or not he'll bring a little Jaylen Samuels into his game, Snell summed it up best. "I honestly feel like we're all special in our own way."

He should get his first chance to show what the third running back in Pittsburgh can bring to the field, this Sunday.
