The Pittsburgh Steelers have yet to meet with free agent linebacker Bud Dupree.

PITTSBURGH -- The Pittsburgh Steelers are reportedly bringing outside linebacker Bud Dupree in for a visit and an expected physical, but according to Pittsburgh Post-Gazette's Gerry Dulac, the meeting has yet to happen.

During his weekly chat, Dulac was asked why it's taking so long for the Steelers and Dupree to sign a new deal, bringing the former first-round pick back to Pittsburgh. Dulac replied, claiming they still haven't had any in-person talks with the free agent linebacker.

"I was told yesterday he is scheduled to come in for a visit about a possible reunion," Dulac said. "There is no done deal; in fact, there might not be a deal at all. But it would be a great move by the Steelers if they can make it work because it gives them a big-time backup at OLB."

Dupree is coming off two seasons with the Tennessee Titans, where his five-year, $82.5 million deal didn't work out. After struggling to stay healthy following his ACL surgery his final year in Pittsburgh, Dupree recorded just seven sacks and played only 22 games.

The two sides will need to discuss health and a reasonable contract for both parties. Dupree will enter the season at 30 years old, and after two down years, it's hard to anticipate he'll land a deal anywhere near the $20 million he was set to make in 2023.
