Details Emerge on Steelers Deal With Patrick Queen

The Pittsburgh Steelers inked the former Ravens linebacker to a three-year deal.

PITTSBURGH -- The Pittsburgh Steelers are set to ink inside linebacker Patrick Queen to a contract, bringing the former Baltimore Raven over on a three-year deal worth $41 million.

Now, the details of that contract have been released. According to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero, the Steelers' deal with Queen looks as follows:

  • 2024: $11.59 million signing bonus. $2.25 million salary guaranteed.
  • 2025: $6.67 million March roster bonus. $7.16 million salary.
  • 2026: $2.5 million March roster bonus. $10.83 million salary.

The 24-year-old All-Pro comes to Pittsburgh and will earn $13.84 million during his first season. From there, the team will have options each season that follows, allowing them to continue working with Queen or rework his contract with signing bonuses for lower cap hits.

The Steelers came into the week with over $28 million in available cap space. So far, they've signed Queen to a $41 million, quarterback Russell Wilson to a one-year deal worth just $1.2 million and punter Cameron Johnston to a three-year, $9 million.

The team still has options for possible contract restructures in T.J. Watt, Alex Highsmith and Minkah Fitzpatrick, and could lower Cam Heyward's $22 million cap hit with an extension.

With cap space to spend, expect the Steelers to continue adding to their roster and could even look to sign another inside linebacker before the initial free agency period ends.
