Steelers Sign Former Ravens LB Patrick Queen

The Pittsburgh Steelers make a splash on defense in free agency.

PITTSBURGH -- The Pittsburgh Steelers have made another splash in free agency, landing inside linebacker Patrick Queen to a three-year deal, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Queen was one of the top inside linebackers on the market in free agency. At just 24-years-old, he'll sign a deal with the Steelers, keeping him in Pittsburgh for three years and making $41 million over that time.

Queen made his first Pro Bowl last season after recording 133 tackles, nine tackles for loss, 3.5 sacks, a forced fumble, fumble recovery and an interception. In four years in the NFL, he's recorded 454 tackles, 37 tackles for loss, 13.5 sacks, five forced fumbles, six fumble recoveries and four interceptions.

Queen now joins Elandon Roberts, Cole Holcomb and Mark Robinson as the Steelers' inside linebackers to this point. With Holcomb coming off a torn ACL, the Steelers are unsure of a return date, making Queen's signing even more important.

Expect Queen to become the top inside linebacker in Pittsburgh, a role the team has tried to fill for the last several years after losing Ryan Shazier. They'll look for the former first-round pick out of LSU to come over from the Baltimore Ravens and provide the spark they've desperately needed.
