Joey Porter Jr. 'Hold Out' Ends: Steelers Sign Second-Round Pick

The Pittsburgh Steelers finally sign their last rookie.

PITTSBURGH -- The Pittsburgh Steelers no longer have to worry about second-round pick Joey Porter Jr. being on the field when the start training camp next week. The Athletic's Mark Kaboly reports the team has agreed on terms with the rookie the day before training camp.

Porter Jr. was the final member of the Steelers' draft class left to sign a deal. He sat in a unique situation, being the 32nd pick in the draft, but technically being a second-rounder. Therefore, there was some conversation to be had about his compensation and guaranteed money.

After signing a deal, he'll be in Pittsburgh for the next four years.

With the new deal, all seven members of the Steelers' 2023 NFL Draft class are now officially ready to take the field. Porter Jr. looks to make an immediate impact this season, and could be in contention to start on the boundary for Pittsburgh as a rookie.

He'll compete with Levi Wallace and Patrick Peterson for reps during training camp.

The Steelers take the field on July 27 at Saint Vicent's College in Latrobe as they prepare for the 2023 season.
