Nebraska Hires Steelers Assistant Coach

The Pittsburgh Steelers lose one of their offensive assistants.

PITTSBURGH -- The University of Nebraska is adding a member from the Pittsburgh Steelers to their staff. According to The Athletic's Mitch Sherman, the team has hired Steelers offensive assistant Glenn Thomas as their quarterbacks coach.

Thomas joined the Steelers this past season to help with the development of their young offense. Prior to Pittsburgh, he spent time as the offensive coordinator and/or quarterbacks coach at Temple (2015-2016), Baylor (2017-2019), UNLV (2020-2021) and Arizona State (2022).

Prior to his run in college football, Thomas an offensive assistant with the Atlanta Falcons from 2008-2011 and was then promoted to quarterbacks coach where he held the position from 2012-2014.

The Steelers could have a few assistants up for jobs this offseason, with Eddie Faulkner and Frisman Jackson being names to watch. Pittsburgh will likely look to replace Thomas with another rising offensive coaching assistant as they hire a new offensive coordinator and try to continue building their young group of players.
