NFL Fines Three Steelers Players
PITTSBURGH -- The Pittsburgh Steelers continue to get fined by the NFL for in-game penalties, racking up over $150,000 in Week 2 due to unsportsmanlike calls - and one non-call.
The league announced Steelers inside linebackers Kwon Alexander and Elandon Roberts were both fined $43,709 for unsportsmanlike penalties that were called in the game. For Alexander, this came just days after the NFL retracted a fine worth the same amount for a preseason hit.
Running back Jaylen Warren was also fined for a total of $48,333 for illegal use of the helmet. While Alexander and Roberts were flagged during the game, the NFL has fined Warren for a play he was not penalized for in-game.
Warren's agent David Conter shared shortly after the fine was sent that they would be repealing it with hopes of it being retracted as well.
Through two games, the Steelers have been hit with a total of $167,804 in fines.
