Eagles Sign Steelers DB Terrell Edmunds to One-Year Deal

The former Pittsburgh Steelers first-round pick is headed to the Philadelphia Eagles.

PITTSBURGH -- Pittsburgh Steelers fans now know where safety Terrell Edmunds after he informed the team he would not be returning in free agency. According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, the former first-round pick is headed to the Philadelphia Eagles on a one-year deal.

Edmunds sent a goodbye to the Steelers yesterday on social media. He then informed the club he would not be returning, and fans patiently awaited the news of his signing.

With Philadelphia losing C.J. Gardner-Johnson to the Detroit Lions, Edmunds stays in-state and finds a new NFL home.

At just 26-years-old, Edmunds will play for his second NFL team, and look to join other former Steelers like JuJu Smith-Schuster in giving a Super Bowl-capable team the edge this season.

The strong safety has started 75 games for Pittsburgh the last five years, recording 410 tackles, five interceptions and 26 pass deflections. This past season, he recorded 70 tackles, two sacks, three tackles for loss and five pass deflections.

Pittsburgh currently has Damontae Kazee, Minkah Fitzpatrick, Tre Norwood and Miles Killebrew on the roster.
