Former Steelers WR Chase Claypool Lands on PUP List

The former Pittsburgh Steelers receiver continues to have setbacks with the Chicago Bears.

PITTSBURGH -- Former Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Chase Claypool will wait to start his first training camp with the Chicago Bears. The team has reportedly placed the wideout on the Physically Unable to Perform list to begin their final stage of summer workouts.

Claypool not starting training camp on the field could be worrisome as reports have come out during the offseason that the team is currently unhappy with the receiver's work ethic.

""I have heard from a few people inside that building that he is not somebody who is very self-motivated," Marc Silverman of ESPN’s Waddle & Silvy Show said early this summer.

Claypool caught just 14 passes for 140 yards with the Bears last season.

The Bears will undergo four weeks of training camp before the regular season. It's unknown what injury Claypool is dealing with, but there should be an early expectation he is on the field at some point during training camp.

In the meantime, the Bears will operate with Darnell Mooney and newly-acquired D.J. Moore as their leading wideouts.
