Steelers Rookie Cory Trice Carted Off Field After Injury

The Pittsburgh Steelers lost their rookie cornerback during training camp.

LATROBE -- Pittsburgh Steelers rookie cornerback Cory Trice Jr. went down with what appears to be a right knee injury during the team's first padded practice of training camp.

Trice was in on a tackle during team drills and stayed down on the field afterward. Trainers came out to tend to him, looking at his knee. He remained down for several minutes before being carted off the field.

He was unable to put weight on his leg after the injury.

Trice was working with the second team at training camp, competing with names like Madre Harper, James Pierre and Luq Barcoo for a spot on the team's 53-man roster. It's unknown how serious the injury is or whether it will keep him out long-term, but going down in Week 2 is not ideal for the seventh-round rookie.

The Steelers are already dealing with injuries, losing safety Damontae Kazee and running back Alfonzo Graham.

All Steelers will continue to provide updates as more information on Trice's injury becomes available.
