Steelers New CB Announces Jersey Number

The Pittsburgh Steelers new rookie cornerbacks has a number.

PITTSBURGH -- The Pittsburgh Steelers will develop a new rookie cornerback this season after acquiring former Kansas City Chief Darius Rush from their practice squad.

Rush, who was originally drafted by the Indianapolis Colts in the fifth round of the 2023 NFL Draft, replaces Desmond King, who the Steelers cut. The former South Carolina Gamecock will spend a minimum of four weeks of the team's active roster, but it appears Pittsburgh has hopes they can find another rookie to develop with Joey Porter Jr.

It's unknown when fans will get their first look at Rush on gameday, but they'll now know what number to look for.

According to the team's website, Rush will wear number 21 with the Steelers. He wore number 28 in college and then 30 with the Indianapolis Colts. All three Pittsburgh rookie cornerbacks will wear numbers in the 20s - Porter No. 24, Rush No. 21, and Cory Trice, No. 27.

Rush will rep a number with some pretty good history in Pittsburgh. Former players such as Sean Davis, Tony Dungy, Eric Williams, Amos Zereoue, Deon Figures, and others have worn the jersey throughout time.
