Report: Steelers Will Not Keep Long-Time LB Coach Jerry Olsavsky

The Pittsburgh Steelers have found a new ILBs coach.

PITTSBURGH -- The Pittsburgh Steelers are moving on from inside linebackers coach Jerry Olsavsky as they hire Aaron Curry to fill the role, according to ESPN's Brooke Pryor.

The Steelers announced the hire of Curry, marking the second inside linebackers coach in two seasons to come to Pittsburgh. Curry follows Brian Flores, who left to become the Minnesota Vikings' defensive coordinator.

Prior to Flores, though, Olsavsky was the team's inside linebackers coach for the last eight seasons. Prior to that, he was with the team as a defensive assistant since 2010.

Olsavsky has ties with Pittsburgh dating back to 1989 when the Steelers drafted him. He played with the team until 1997 and retired in 1998 before starting his coaching career in 2003 at Youngstown State.

Curry comes to the Steelers after spending the last four years with the Seattle Seahawks. The former first-round pick in 2009 was a coaching assistant in Seattle, and this will be his first position coaching job in the NFL.
