Steelers Rival J.K. Dobbins Suffers Season-Ending Injury

The Baltimore Ravens running back is expected to miss the year.

PITTSBURGH -- Pittsburgh Steelers rival and Baltimore Ravens running back JK Dobbins is expected to miss the season as it's believed he suffered a torn achilles in the season opener, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

Dobbins was helped off the field in the Ravens Week 1 matchup and taken to the locker room. At first, it was an apparent ankle injury, but has since been revealed that Baltimore believes it's an achilles.

The torn achilles marks the second season-ending injury of Dobbins's career after missing the 2021 season with a torn ACL.

Dobbins is set to negotiate a contract extension after the season, and was part of the running back committee in the NFL fighting for better deals within the position.

Without Dobbins, the Ravens will turn to Gus Edwards and Justice Hill at running back. Melvin Gordon is on their practice squad.
