Steelers Showing Interest in Clemson DL Myles Murphy

The Pittsburgh Steelers are learning more about Clemson defender Myles Murphy.

INDIANAPOLIS — The Pittsburgh Steelers will look at a number of defensive linemen during the NFL Combine, but early in the week, they’re showing interest in Clemson pass rusher Myles Murphy.

Murphy is set to meet with the Steelers during the second day of the NFL Combine as they begin their formal interviews in Indianapolis.

“Love Mike Tomlin,” Murphy said. “I watched the Pivot Podcast, the episode he was on, and I love the guy. He’s come to all the Clemson Pro Days. He’s a consistent guy. Definitely a player’s coach.”

Murphy says he’s a bit of a different rusher than Steelers star T.J. Watt, and laughed as he said he actually models his game off of Myles Garrett.

”I watch a little bit of everybody honestly,” Murphy said. “I take a little bit from T.J. Watt, J.J. Watt, Von Miller, Khalil Mack, everybody.”

The Clemson star finished his career playing 35 games and recording 18.5 sacks and 36 tackles for loss as a Tiger.

If he falls to them at pick 17, Pittsburgh is making sure they’re ready to make him a Steeler.
