Steelers Uncertain About QB Situation

Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin updated Kenny Pickett's injury.

PITTSBURGH -- The Pittsburgh Steelers are uncertain how their quarterback situation will look in Week 14 when they host the New England Patriots. After Kenny Pickett left Week 13 with an ankle injury, the team is waiting to see how their depth chart looks come Thursday night.

Pickett originally suffered an ankle injury against the Cincinnati Bengals the week prior. Then, in the second quarter against the Arizona Cardinals, he aggravated it and was unable to return.

With just two days of practice ahead of them, the Steelers are uncertain how things will play out this week. Head coach Mike Tomlin said, as of now, it's a waiting game.

He confirmed that Mitch Trubisky will start for the Steelers if Pickett cannot play. Trubisky went 11 of 17 for 117 yards and a touchdown against the Cardinals.

"We'll roll with Mitch if he [Kenny] can't play," Tomlin said. "But I don't know where any of that is as I sit here today."

Mason Rudolph will be the backup without Pickett.
