Steelers Favorites to Land 49ers Star

The Pittsburgh Steelers Appear to be the top option to trade for the 49ers' leading receiver.

PITTSBURGH -- The Pittsburgh Steelers' connections to 49ers star wideout Brandon Aiyuk have only grown stronger since trade rumors resurfaced over the weekend.

Now the Steelers are favored to land San Francisco's top pass-catcher via the trade market, according to Chris Adamski of the Pittsburgh Tribune Review. Pittsburgh has the best odds to be his next team at 2/1, followed by the Carolina Panthers and New England Patriots (6/1), Arizona Cardinals (7/1) and Los Angeles Chargers (9/1).

The Steelers were reportedly interested in trading for 49ers star Brandon Aiyuk earlier this offseason before San Francisco general manager John Lynch shut that possibility down quickly at the NFL League Meetings last month.

But trade rumors picked back up steam recently, with NFL insider Benjamin Albright hinting that the trade was imminent. Sources also told All Steelers that they "would be surprised if it didn't happen." The Steelers wouldn't be willing to break the bank for him but for the right price, would jump at the opportunity add a bonafide star to pair with George Pickens in the passing game.

Aiyuk set a career-high with 1,342 receiving yards last season and added seven touchdown receptions as well. He's amassed 3,931 yards and 25 touchdowns during his first four seasons in the NFL.
