Texans Meet With Alabama's Bryce Young, Among Other NFL Draft QB Prospects

The Houston Texans have met with Alabama's quarterback prospect Bryce Young and others at the 2023 NFL Scouting Combine.

The Houston Texans are making their rounds meeting with the top draft prospects at the 2023 NFL Scouting Combine. As reported by KPRC, the Texans have met with Alabama quarterback Bryce Young.

Young will not throw at the combine on Saturday. But his decision will not prevent his chances of being a top-five prospect taken during the 2023 NFL Draft in April.

Young has established himself as the top-rated quarterback due to his arm strength. The former Heisman winner finished his college career at Alabama throwing for 8,356 yards while completing 65.8 percent of his passes, to go along with 80 touchdowns and a dozen interceptions.

Coach DeMeco Ryans has not been shy about expressing his desire to improve Houston's quarterback room. But Ryans believes a coach must put his quarterback in the best position to maximize their potential.

KPRC added the Texans have met with Kentucky quarterback Will Levis. Another meeting is set with Florida's Anthony Richardson.

"When you’re evaluating quarterbacks, different quarterbacks can do a lot of different things," coach DeMeco Ryans said. "I think the system is built around the quarterback as opposed to trying to fit a quarterback into a certain system.

"It’s all about the player that you have, not only a quarterback but a receiver. It’s about just making sure that a player has the right tools and you’re putting him in a spot where he can thrive."

The Texans met with Alabama EDGE rusher Will Anderson on Wednesday. Anderson said his meeting with general manager Nick Caserio "went well." Anderson also met with the Chicago Bears, who hold the No. 1 pick.
