'Come On Man!' Texans QB C.J. Stroud Not Happy With Madden 24 Rating

After being drafted second overall, Houston Texans' rookie quarterback C.J. Stroud wasn't pleased with his initial rating.

It is that time of the year, folks, with the annual release of EA Sports' Madden video game officially less than a month away. And with the upcoming release comes, of course, the revealing of some players' rankings in the game.

Ahead of the release on Aug. 15, EA Sports had rookies react to their initial overall rankings - which are notoriously low, as there is no basis for them being high due to, well, them being rookies. Among those rookies reacting was new Houston Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud

Well, it is safe to say that the rookie was not happy with his initial ranking. In a video on EA Sports' Madden NFL 24 Twitter, a "Madden ratings detective" told Stroud he's starting the game at a 73 overall.

"Come on, man," was all Stroud had to say about his rating of 73. While it's definitely fair for Stroud to want a higher ranking to start, that is something he'll have to earn on the field this season.

He'll likely have plenty of opportunities to do so as well, with a growing belief that the rookie quarterback will eventually be named the starter for the Texans' season opener against the Baltimore Ravens.

And, of course, Stroud's rating in a video game is far from a reflection of how good or bad he will turn out to be at the NFL level. However, there is no doubt the Texans' next franchise guy will want to see that rating rise once the season starts.
