The Houston Texans made multiple moves around the staff and front office on a relatively quiet Friday, adding to general manager Nick Caserio's title by naming him the organization's Executive Vice President.

All new hires and moves were first reported by the Houston Chronicle

The Texans also promoted assistant director of personnel/director of scouting James Liipfert to executive director of player personnel. He nine seasons in New England and three years as a national scout before joining Houston.

Minnesota Vikings scout Chris Blanco will begin his second stint with Houston as the new assistant director of player personnel, per Click2Houston.com.

Blanco played at Dartmouth and later was a recruiting assistant for the Iowa Hawkeyes/

And those hires aren't half of it. Moziaue McCurtis and John Ritcher have both been promoted from national scouts to co-college scouting directors. The national scout role will be filled by Brad Matthews.

Running backs coach Danny Barrett has been a part of the Texans' organization for five years and will be given the title of assistant head coach. He was originally hired into the organization by Bill O'Brien.

The director of applied sports science in Houston will now be Marc Lewis.

Sean Barker will be replaced as assistant special teams coordinator by William Burnham, a former special teams coach at Virginia Tech and Kansas State.

Don't say Friday wasn't a slow news day after all. DeMeco Ryans is making serious moves across the coaching staff, and the Texans' shakeup is a sign of the team's commitment to the organization.
