Texans Legend J.J. Watt Endorses C.J. Stroud For Offensive Rookie Of The Year: 'Correct Choice!'

Former Houston Texans defensive end J.J. Watt believes quarterback C.J. Stroud has locked up Offensive Rookie of the Year without a doubt.
In this story:

For most of the season, the race for Offensive Rookie of the Year has essentially been between just two players.

In one corner, there's Houston Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud. The No. 2 overall pick out of Ohio State, Stroud has already made a strong case to be among the league's best quarterbacks. He threw for 4,108 yards, 23 touchdowns and only five interceptions while leading the once-downtrodden Texans to a 10-win season, and with them being one of eight teams still standing, they're not done yet.

In the other corner, there's Los Angeles Rams receiver Puka Nacua. The fifth-round pick out of BYU came out of nowhere to set NFL rookie records with 105 receptions and 1,486 receiving yards. Although Nacua's Rams lost in Sunday's playoff game against the Detroit Lions, he still went off with nine receptions for 181 yards and a touchdown.

It's a very tough situation, as despite both rookies having incredible seasons, only one can win the award. Even though both are more than worthy of the honor, the choice is clear for Texans legend J.J. Watt.

"C.J. Stroud is going to win Offensive Rookie of the Year and it is 100% deserved and the correct choice," Watt wrote on X. "It is also extremely unfortunate that Puka Nacua is not going to get award recognition he deserves for a truly incredible rookie season. Phenomenal ball from young bucks."

'Out of This World!' Case Keenum Reveals Hot Take About C.J. Stroud

Looking at betting odds, it seems like most agree with Watt's assessment. Most betting sites have Stroud as the heavy favorite to win Offensive Rookie of the Year, with Nacua as a distant second. This obviously doesn't take away from the amazing season Nacua has had, rather adds to just how good Stroud has been.

Perhaps it's no surprise that Watt, a three-time Defensive Player of the Year and the greatest player in Texans history, is supporting the Houston star. However, no matter who wins the award, it's clear that the NFL is in good hands going forward.
